Frequently asked questions
How should I choose a hardwood floor refinishing company?
Look at recent photos of finished work, read multiple customer reviews, and confirm the company’s experience with your floor type. Ask about finishes, dust control, timeline, and what the quoted price includes before committing.
What affects the cost of hardwood floor refinishing?
Costs depend on the size of the job, the current condition of the floors, how many finish coats you want, and any repairs or board replacements needed. Request itemized estimates from several contractors to compare labor, materials, and cleanup.
What should I check before the crew starts work in my home?
Confirm that the contractor is licensed and insured, get a written scope and timeline, and clarify prep and post-job cleanup responsibilities. Also ask about ventilation, expected odor, and any required occupant or pet arrangements during work.
How was this ranking of refinishing services compiled?
This list is based on Google review data updated for 2026 and uses a Bayesian-style approach that weights average ratings by the number of reviews so businesses with high scores and more feedback rank higher.
